(Excerpt from the MDAG Rutter)
MDAG Entry #1a
Title: Modern Day Adventurer’s Guide
The Modern Day Adventurer’s Guide is the most sensational mobile information resource in existence.
Housed in our New York, NY offices, the MDAG is a compilation of fact, fiction and intrigue that covers virtually every topic in the known universe. Using an electronic instrument called an MDAG Mobile Rutter, this information can be accessed from anywhere in the world at any time. A Rutter combines cellular, internet, paging, PDA and GPS technologies, as well as providing a gateway to the MDAG Global Database to create the most useful hand-held instrument in the world.
When activated, an MDAG Rutter will automatically register its position with the GPS network and display its position on a map. The map will also reveal any and all travel information based on the Rutter’s location—shops, restaurants, movies, etc. If more specific information is desired, a simple click and a voice command can be given to retrieve any data on any subject available.
Note: the name ‘Rutter’ comes from the ancient nautical term for a ship pilot’s diary. A Rutter is, or was, used primarily by ship captains as a reference guide to waters they’d never sailed. In using a Rutter, written by someone that had sailed the waters, a sailor could gain essential knowledge on currents, prevailing winds, landmasses, storms, and boundless etceteras. Suffice it to say that a Rutter was and is a reference of priceless value to any sailor of unfamiliar seas.
